| I have heard rumors but as I watch EWTN I hear only solid Catholic teaching. I think I remember it was a group that did not like the orthodoxy but I can't say for sure. We must remember that the evil one likes to create confusion and doubt to upset us so we should not be so easily upset by everything I hear. |
God Bless Bob. |

well, T.J. all I could find in the search engine I used was that disobedient Catholics, Fr. Gruner etc...endorse it. That is enough for me to realise that the book is not acurate but biased.
I have listened to EWTN both on TV and radio and from what I see and hear they have not deviated from Catholic teaching. |

I'm choosing not to provide a direct link here to the site where the book can be ordered, but I did briefly read through all the provided promotional information.
The book was written by Christopher Ferrara and largely based on his own observations as he has viewed the programming. It contains an endorsement from Catholic Family News and an interview with Ferrara, in which he explains why he wrote "this long overdue book".
I think this quote by Ferrara will tell you pretty much anything you need to know about the book:
quote: "There is no doubt in my mind that St. Pius X, or any other of the great pre-Conciliar Popes, would scream in horror at much of what EWTN broadcasts to the world as authentic Roman Catholicism."
Yep, it's written from an ultra-traditionalist viewpoint, someone who thinks he knows better than the Pope.
I wouldn't waste your time worrying about the book beyond being able to explain to others that the author has an agenda to spread these radical, errant beliefs.
EWTN is a blessing, and it does offer only authentic, Catholic teaching. That is why Satan is attacking the network. |

hi All,
I know that father Gruner seems to be a "trouble" .... he has this "thing" that the pope never fully consicrated Russia to Mary's immaculate heart ... although i read that sister Lucia ... one / eldest of the visionaries stated that Mary's request had been fufilled by Pope john paul ii....
the other part that bothered me was that it was said that mother Angelica was "pushed" out!
does she not do any more shows?
i met her and spent a little time with her and i thought she was wonderful! |

You need to ignore everything said in that tome.
Do not listen to such gossip and nonsense.

Mother Angelica was not "pushed out." Her last stroke impaired her speech capabilities to where hosting live television shows was no longer possible. You can get a sense of it if you watch the 9:30PM ET Rosary prayed from her monastery. Her sisters have described it that she often struggles to find a word, and then to physically say it.
"Traditionalists" like that author tick me off because they give the rest of us trads a bad rap. >_< |
